Task 2 : The Dark Knight Rises - Analysing the opening sequence

Date - 10/01/13

The Dark Knight rises is a third installment of the Christopher Nolan's trilogy based upon a very popular DC comics character 'batman' who Warner Brothers produced all three movies and as this Batman series is being called the best batman series of all time, they are rebooting this movie with a different director as Christopher only wanted to make three movies.

Right at the start of the movie they show the studios who created the movie and then the screen is cracking  and they do not show the title sequence the part which shows the audience how is in the movie and who it is directed by because it is such a big movie and that they have A list actor/actresses that they do not need to show them and as they know who plays in the movie. this challenges the code of conventions of a movie  as you cannot see who directed it, and stared it in it.
Commissioner Gordon talks about Harvey dent he says 'I believe in Harvey dent.' which is a flashback from the last movie  the 'Dark Knight' shows us that this part will be important in this movie as if someone did not see the second installment of the the dark knight trilogy they are telling the audience that information to make them think why would you need. so the director is using archive footage to show a piece of information that you need to know.

There is an Aerial shot of the plane and the landscape, Christopher Nolan likes Aerial shots swiping around the landscapes showing the plane flying somewhere in Scotland. This is called a master shot of where they are to make it obvious for the audience where the action takes place so that the audience would not try to guess where the action is as the master shot tells you straight away, normally you put the master shot before the actual action.

The three mercenaries on the plane are masked so that people will not recognize who they are and makes the importance of identities less the detective and the other people who are on the plane, until the detective asks the second mercenary 'a lot of loyalty for a hired gun' he says that because he wants them to talk and they are not talking back to him but one of them says something to him 'perhaps they are wondering why would someone shoot a man before throwing him out of the plane' which means that he may be more a leader than the other two as he is the only one who says something. Also, he says that because he makes him realize that his people are smart and very loyal to the leader so that they will not tell him about 'Bane'.
When they showed the plane scene at comic con about a year before this movie was showned in the cinema the audience did not understand what Bane was saying so they had to edit his voice to make it so that the audience would understand what he is saying, which means that Bane's voice at the satart sounded much differently than when you watched it in the cinema.
When on the plane Bane is talking to the detective at the moment when he says 'crashing this plane' the music changes and the cuts quicken to make the pace faster and that when they start to attack and take control of the plane to crash it. The point of crashing the plane the was so that people in the movie would think that the doctor who created the fusion power bomb would be dead as they poured blood the doctor's blood into the dead body. So Dr Pavel would be presumed dead after they

Also, when the Commissioner Gordon talks about Harvey Dent there is a flashback of him having two faces and how evil he was trying to kill his son so he wants to tell them the truth about him 'telling the truth about Harvey Dent' which means that he is thinking about telling the people of Gotham who Harvey really was but he stops him self and says that 'maybe the timing isn't right' because he believes that they need to know the truth just not at the moment.
